Carmen Electra is "very shy" ("I truly am"), but she's conquered timidity. She sang and danced with Prince, starred on MTV and in "Baywatch," posed in Playboy five times, helped launch the Pussycat Dolls and acted in "Scary Movie."
Wanna-be celebrities may envy the niche she's carved. In Las Vegas, Electra has banked $100,000 appearance fees merely for walking into nightclubs and twinkling for stargazers.
But even as Carmen Electra has revealed herself so physically over the years, she reveals to me something she's never detailed so publicly:
"You know, I had a couple of years of being homeless in Hollywood," Electra tells me. "A lot of people don't even know this."
She was in her early 20s back then. Her life was a whirl. She had grown up as a ballerina in conservative Cincinnati, cut an album for Prince, toured with him, and danced at his Glam Slam club in Los Angeles.
But the Prince gig ended. A boyfriend stole her slim savings. All of that led to this:
"I remember sitting on a park bench in the valley," she says. "I was crying because I was stranded. It was over 100 degrees outside.
"I was sitting there with a pocketknife and a pager and some change in my pocket, and a really nice pair of high heels," she says and laughs. "Versace heels, because I had a few pieces of my amazing clothes I'd gotten along the way.
"And big hair, of course. I had teased hair and lashes on, because I had my little makeup case.
"I remember crying and watching cars drive by and thinking, 'I would do anything just to be able to get from here to there -- to get down the block!' I was, like, 'I can't walk anymore.'"
Plenty of stars have survived homeless youths. Halle Berry lived in a shelter at age 21, because her mom wouldn't support her. But how is it possible Electra went broke so fast after striking initial success?
For one thing, she had paid off debt she accrued to record her first solo album. (This August, she finally releases a second album, of electronic dance songs, for Sony.)
She didn't manage her money well back then. She didn't even have a bank account.
And oh, by the way, she was sore.
"I still have injuries that I have to deal with from my ballet years."
Her neck hurt. Her knees hurt. While working for Prince, she had "thrashed" her body around for the Glam Slam club's show, "Erotic City," choreographed by Jamie King.
"For me, it was a spiritual experience, a very passionate time," she says. "I put my heart and soul into the dancing. And with Jamie's choreography, you give it 150 percent. ... We all walked away limping a little bit from that show," she says. "But it was worth it."
Anyway, after Prince and Glam Slam and sore knees, there she was in the street.

Endorphins: Natural Pain and Stress Fighters
Endorphins are among the brain chemicals known as neurotransmitters, which function to transmit electrical signals within the nervous system. At least 20 types of endorphins have been demonstrated in humans. Endorphins can be found in the pituitary gland, in other parts of the brain, or distributed throughout the nervous system.
Stress and pain are the two most common factors leading to the release of endorphins. Endorphins interact with the opiate receptors in the brain to reduce our perception of pain and act similarly to drugs such as morphine and codeine. In contrast to the opiate drugs, however, activation of the opiate receptors by the body's endorphins does not lead to addiction or dependence.
In addition to decreased feelings of pain, secretion of endorphins leads to feelings of euphoria, modulation of appetite, release of sex hormones, and enhancement of the immune response. With high endorphin levels, we feel less pain and fewer negative effects of stress. Endorphins have been suggested as modulators of the so-called "runner's high" that athletes achieve with prolonged exercise. While the role of endorphins and other compounds as potential triggers of this euphoric response has been debated extensively by doctors and scientists, it is at least known that the body does produce endorphins in response to prolonged, continuous exercise.
Endorphin release varies among individuals. This means that two people who exercise at the same level or suffer the same degree of pain will not necessarily produce similar levels of endorphins. Certain foods, such as chocolate or chili peppers, can also lead to enhanced secretion of endorphins. In the case of chili peppers, the spicier the pepper, the more endorphins are secreted. The release of endorphins upon ingestion of chocolate likely explains the comforting feelings that many people associate with this food and the craving for chocolate in times of stress.
Even if you don't participate in strenuous athletics, you can also try various activities to increase your body's endorphin levels. Studies of acupuncture and massagetherapy have shown that both of these techniques can stimulate endorphin secretion. Sex is also a potent trigger for endorphin release. Finally, the practice of meditation can increase the amount of endorphins released in your body.

Although most men and women put on weight differently, there is little evidence on what makes fat settle in a preferential way.
Body Shapes
Scientists ascertained that there are three specific body shapes:
The android, or apple shape, is common among men. Fat deposits on the middle section of the body, mostly on the abdomen.
The gynoid, or pear shape, is more common among women. Fat is deposited on the hips and bottom.
A third type of body shape, the ovoid, does not differentiate between men and women. Here we can speak of an overall general coverage of body fat.
Although there are many exceptions, we would like to ask two questions:
Is there a strict specific fat pattern distribution for men and women?
Which factors influence fat distribution?
The answers are more interesting from the health perspective than from the aesthetic side.
Many factors govern whether you are overweight or underweight. You are genetically overweight if you have a family history of overweight parents or relatives. The nervous system also plays an important role in balancing body weight.
Serotonin is a neurotransmitter involved in processes such as sleep, depression and memory. Its high levels appear to decrease the desire to eat. Endorphin is a neurochemical in the brain with analgesic properties. It can prompt you to eat. They send signals to the brain that induce the need to eat or the contrary. The CCK hormone also transmits brain signals on the state of satiety. It decreases hunger.
While, generally, physical condition and physical activity has a genetic and hormonal influence, fat distribution is influenced by age, genetic inheritance, race, but to a greater extent by gender-specific hormones. They are responsible for the distribution of fat on certain areas of our bodies. Estrogens, for example, which are responsible for the typical female sexual characteristics, will influence fat deposit in the pear format. They deposit on the hips, thighs, and belly, while testosterone will "lead" fat mostly towards the stomach and upper body.
The latest studies show that men's tendency towards the gynoid format has increased in the past 30 years.

I decided to publish front page instead of sending visitor to short story 2.. Posted today 10/28/11....The story behind that chick....The idea is to prove that someone welling to go the extra step for you even if you are worth dirts. is not a one nite chick..I have had many before to validate that one... Same exact validation with clumsy feedback, people, information, he said and she said. Who is responsible for the source, well one must do as little as one can to validate the source, no other people will do it for you. For example someone continue to assume that whatever a person said, based on what they told him or her, they have took the action necessary. it is a broad subject, but to be specific, if one told to act upon a source whereas the action must be taking put him and others at high risk, of course the least and minimum validation of the source should be assess prior than taking action.

Virginia Officers Cleared in 2009 Taser Death !!!!!.
Officers were justified when they Tasered a man who threatened them with a samurai sword.
Inside the source"
"Based on the autopsy report and the justified actions of the police officers involved, I conclude that no criminal charges are appropriate," Curtis said in her Oct. 14 report. The state Medical Examiner's Office had previously ruled the death accidental.
Police were attempting to serve an emergency custody order on Adams -- who was at the time suffering from severe mental health issues, according to Curtis' report. But Adams did not go peacefully.
Adams, waving the sword, came after four officers at 12:17 a.m., and the officers deployed the Taser three times before police managed to take the sword from him, Curtis wrote.
Police say only two of the three Taser deployments were effective.
Adams continued to struggle with officers. They then "drive-stunned" Adams three times with the Taser -- meaning the device was put directly to the skin rather than shooting barbs -- as police handcuffed him and put leg irons on him.
When the cuffs were removed for readjustment, Curtis wrote, Adams again began "struggling and spitting," and was drive-stunned a fourth time at 12:26 a.m. "Adams stopped struggling, and moments later officers noticed he was not breathing," Curtis' report said.
He was pronounced dead at 1:17 a.m.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- The mother of an Okeechobee toddler in the hospital has been arrested on child abuse charges.
Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office detectives said that when Amber Koebernik took the 2-year-old to the hospital Tuesday, the girl had bruises, three fractured ribs, a bruised liver, a fractured clavicle and a punctured lung.
A Florida Department of Children and Families case worker had been to the home two days earlier.
DCF officials said in a statement that there is an active investigation on the family, but when the case worker went to the home March 5, there was no indication of injuries or illness. The statement went on to say officials are "working closely with law enforcement on the investigation and are very disturbed by the situation."
The girl was listed in stable condition at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach.

WHAT ABOUT IT..stubborn fat...Those who wanted out. Those who gave up long ago. We really like to help, look I was there, I had no clue what I should look like, I wanted that thing out, the extra peice of me, for a long time I thaugh too that I was cute. Well people didn't say anything, I had all kind of friends like me, i was wanted by many girls and guys came on to me. I had no idea that fat can kill someone, it is not about girls and looks. Everyone like to hear about how to get rid of it rather than what fat can do. To me it was anything that I put in my mouth, and I mean anything include that too. First thing first any food or beverage intake. Try that for a while it would work, and do not look at what others do. The key is to presist into what you are trying to do, when you stop in reference to a diet because you have not noticed results, that could have been the breaking point. Guess right many have done that, quiting at the breaking point.
What was before matter. In my surrounding people argue about multi-religion sex instead of multi culture.. before it was horrible for a white man to have sex with a black woman. That was the horse that did it. Oh, and after the black man began to wonder around looking for an image he couldn't see in the afro type of women. He thaught, it wasn't the horse. Many of all kind of differences in gender, religion, skin color, education level, class, and wealth find it hard to explain why they reject or"do not" about inter relation from a different cloud.
I get harrassed constantly about a girl I know that she is a jahova witness and going out with this iranian guy, she worked for me in the past, Also I get harrassed about this mexican girl I know that she is going out with this muslim girl. Sometime I get harrassed just playing by myself. I guess people have nothing better to do.
Really what side would one look for as an image to reflect on a sexual partner, his mom or dad. Would it matter really. It is all depend for me , if i was in the mood hick i could exploded in my paints. Most people who have prior arrangemt to where to go about, pick some of the best places to shoose from for their mood. It really doesn't matter if I was in the mood. Does size really matter???????
Get me more of that like my momy stuning looking tits..full of that good stuff. Yah where is that beef?
If size didn't matter than we wouldn't have the big and huge Greek Beauty Pagon...I want dam long legs wraped around ma neck...out that egiptian clit unsurcumsized, and the Brazelian butt looking on that american build hard bud...women got to have more..to be continue. 113656546About religion: Some are christians in progress, others because their parents are muslims, and those riding a bike is a mormon.
What about a budist or a hindu. I met this cute girl. Sexy thing, she said she was Scientologist. I want to be one too. Why not, if can add on some more cute stuff to my cute.
I do beleive whatever, but evr think most those who say they are christian of some sorts, especially the bike ridding mormons don't even know where jesus was born. Some who know don't know where he or his followers went. Especial a person as John the Baptist. All they know if you wanna you got to be like it to lick it......I beleive one who is held responsible for what he say or do as far as any religion, is one who completed some kind of study about this specific religion, such as reading the entire bile, or the first testement, or the book of qoran, ,,the same if one went to a class and needed to get a passing score in that book of whatever, math, history, american governement or otherwise.

Most experts believe that most people get more than enough protein daily. In fact, some believe the average sedentary American eats about 50% more than the recommended daily amount, which ranges from 40-70 grams each day depending on your gender, age and situation.
If you're an exerciser, however, your protein needs may increase since resistance training and endurance workouts can rapidly break down muscle protein. A position statement published by the ADA, DOC and ACSM recommends that endurance and strength-trained athletes have between 1.2 and 1.7 g/kg (0.5 - 0.8 grams per pound) of protein for the best performance and health.
What if you're trying to build more muscle? Shouldn't you eat even more protein? Not necessarily. There's evidence that bodybuilders, much like exercisers or athletes, do require more protein but that any more than double the RDA won't necessarily help you build more muscle. In one study, experts studied three groups of weight lifters: A low protein group (0.86 g/kg), a moderate protein group (1.40 g/kg) and a high protein group (2.40 g/kg) and found that, "There were no effects of varying protein intake on indexes of lean body mass."
In essence, the more you exercise, the greater your protein needs will be. However, taking it too far, for example more than doubling your protein intake, won't necessarily help you build more muscle.
How to Calculate Your Protein Needs:
1. Weight in pounds divided by 2.2 = weight in kg
2. Weight in kg x 0.8-1.8 gm/kg = protein gm.
Use a lower number if you are in good health and are sedentary (i.e., 0.8). Use a higher number (between 1 and 1.8) if you are under stress, are pregnant, are recovering from an illness, or if you are involved in consistent and intense weight or endurance training.

Above is a link to calories counter, a unique free membership website which help in yuor overall search for answers to your weight control.
The idea is that you are guided to the right channels and given the oppourtunity to look at other alternatives and different choices for your weight control. because we are all different, one continue to try to fit in the program which help the most. Something that work.
The best approach is calories burned, then whatever close estimate of consumed calories during the same period of the exerted calories.
The nuber one answer for women to exercise is that weight control. men number one answer was to tone their muscles. keeping this in mind as relevant to the calories burn out approach, a major reason that everyone take on exercising. But we all fail when it comes to calories intake. We just eat, or short come tat weight control idea of eating habits.
Really what helped me the most when I wanted to lose all that 105 extra lbs, is been calories consious. I was new and didn't take it too serious, but i was obssessd with calories buirn out. I knew I was not eating as much as i used to and i cut down on lots of sugar, I mean 4 times as much as i intake nowaday. If you are looking for a long term maintenace to the weight control and to be in charge of your weight, think calories, think calories out first, than the intake is a concern which is by either estimating roughly the numbers, or by diverting to the next period of calculation. meaning if one was off by a 1000 calories today, you need to make sure to add the 1000 calories to the next day for burn out, and that is extra on top of the concurrent numbers of calories needed to burn out. So turn and burn calories that is.

By popular demand of those who invest their time helping others(the good semiritans)sort of speak. One who said that irish guy Glitch he is playing with your hit counter and he is going to take you to the cleaner, this afternon 11/16/11. He said to add all of his family, friends, neighbors, his co-workers and thier kids, his ansestors and all thier relative, and about 20 extra bonus for the one Glitch the mormon irish ex-cop took away. The same request from the 2 asians girls at Starbucks down town Anahein, but they said we are from China. That was what her name and that christian guy , i think he is a pastor of a church, and that cop i couldn't see his face, it was raining, and you know dogs are human too, So I was modest in my response to all those who invest thier time extremely wisely to let people know that no one is left behind. For that i say thank you and happy holiday season, merry christmas. If it happen and you scroll down to the calories counter, please expand on it if you have time, it is no secret that the food industry have picked the right choice and instead of showing the ingridients, we all are represented with the amount of calories. One must than follow the trend of calories intake and how much must be burned. I'am into everything, but fat is my cup of tea. I like the subject as i was reading the South Beach Diet the famous best seller book, i noticed of so much was focused on fod ingruduents and zip on calories, i mean nothing. But that was before the food industry begin to post the calories amount of the food products ready for sale. The game is different, i really think it is important for anyone who is trying to control their weight to focuse on the calories amount. I eat cookies now, but when i was trying to reach my ideal weight, i was shocked when i turned a packaged chocolate cookie sold at one of the gas station, and it said that it has 500 calories.
What is My Food Diary?
To fully understand our philosophy, you must first understand what we are not. MyFoodDiary.com is not a crash diet; we do not promise that you will lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks; we do not push dangerous diet pills; and we do not force you to adopt a completely new menu of foods. These methods of weight loss have proven to be ineffective in the long run and they can even cause lasting damage to your body.
Diets are temporary. If you want to lose weight and keep it off, it is time to change your lifestyle. Luckily, MyFoodDiary.com is not a diet. It is a lifestyle tool. Our system relies on scientifically-proven† methods for permanent weight loss. It works because, unlike other methods, we do not try to completely replace your entire lifestyle. Instead, our tools give you the knowledge to tweak your existing lifestyle into a healthy one. Such an approach is much easier to maintain over the long haul. The result is permanent weight loss.

Obliques is the term rarely used for the spine supportive muscles.
Train your oblique muscles. it is not important to work on your oblique muscles at first, but evantually you'll want to start working these too.
These are the muscles to either side of your stomach. There are multiple ways to exercise your oblique musclesand anything that includes twisting your torso against a resistance counts.
There are twisting machines at gyms you can twist side to side while you do sit-ups, you can do side bends, you can twist side to side with a medecine ball in hand, etc. Be aware though, that many beginners tend to have weak obliques compare to other parts of the body. It is simply isn't used as much in daily life so go easy on the 'side" at first.
Tips for Women on Building Six Pack Abs
When it comes to developing six pack abs, women often don’t see results for a relatively good amount of time. This is mostly attributable to the fact that hormonal changes can generate fat in the stomach area that is more difficult to get rid of. Body fat can settle in the stomach as a result of cortisol, which is a stress hormone. Women have many responsibilities these days, which means there is usually no time for exercise or healthy meals, but more opportunities for stress to occur. When the body is stressed, fat takes up residence in the gut. The more stressors that women are exposed to during the day, the more potential there is that the weight gain will seem long lasting.
Achieving six pack abs you will be able to maintain can also be a challenge. While exercise is necessary, it is also very beneficial to carry on a healthy diet as well. Sugar makes most women put on weight rapidly, and this also disrupts the hormonal balance in the body. Sugar contains testosterone, which is the dominant male hormone. So when there is too much sugar in a woman’s system, this can cause problems with the menstrual cycle and lead to weight gain and moodiness. Not only will women need to cut out excessive amounts of sugar, but baked goods and breads will need to be reduced as well. This will allow the body to break down food more easily, and will prevent food from being lodged in the gut for days at a time.
WHAT is stress? So what is" STRESS"?....I thaught only people in the office get it..I didn't want an office job. You sit behind the desk and get stress...Well, my waitress was crying, i thaught it was my fault, she said no, i'am just having a break down, it is personal, i get these once in a while. Midsection Evaluation Test......
The goal is to test your strength and stability at the center of your body known as(CORE) or the midsection. Also to help you improve and strengthening the weak muscles spots. Assessing yourself, you need a flat surface, mat, and a watch or clock with second counter.
begin testing:
1-Position the watch or clock where you can easily see it.
2-Start in the Plank exercise position (elbows on the ground)hold for 60 seconds.
3-Lift your right arm off the ground and hold for 15 seconds. Return your right arm to the ground and lift the left arm off the ground and hold for 15 seconds.
4-Return the left arm to the ground and lift the right leg off the ground and hold for 15 seconds.
5-Return your leg to the ground and lift your left leg off the ground and hold for 15 seconds.
6-Return your left leg to the ground and lift your right leg and left arm off the ground and hold for 15 seconds.
7-Return your right leg and left arm to the ground and lift your left leg and right arm off the ground and hold for 15 seconds.
8-Return to the Plank exercise position with elbows on the groundand hold for 15 seconds. Plank position.
If complete you have good (CORE)strength or your midsection is in excellent shape.
If you didn't complete the evaluation, then you need to improve your midsection strength. The center of your body is weak. Weakness in your muscles at the center of your body lead to poor balance and lack of efficiency in your movements. This results in wasted energy and poor biomechanics. Letter to the editor: It's not easy to support cops in Philly
"It seems the police aren't appreciated until one or several give the ultimate sacrifice"
The Philadelphia Daily News
PHILADELPHIA — Being a supporter of the Philadelphia police isn't an easy task in this city.
As the wife and mother of two of Philadelphia's Finest, every time a breaking news story hits the airwaves your heart skips 20 beats and you lose your breath.
It seems the police aren't appreciated until one or several give the ultimate sacrifice.
I'm also ashamed when there are bad cops who break the very law they swore to uphold and defend. No one is above the law - too bad the judicial system is not on the same page (but that is another story line).
When someone calls for police assistance, he needs to be prepared for whatever the consequences are. Domestic disturbances are known to be the most deadly for officers to handle; they often have bad outcomes. The police are trained by some top instructors at the academy, but reality is totally different. And I for one would not want to walk in any of their shoes.
I'm proud to be part of a police support group that was formed for this very reason, since the only time police officers seem to be honored is when they are lying in a coffin with their family standing next to them for the last time.
We need to support our police and firefighters. That support and respect must start in the home of the young citizens of our city. Without respect, no one will be able to perform his job or help anyone in need. I'm not talking about fear of or hatred for these officers; I'm talking about decent everyday respect, like in the days of Mayor Rizzo.
Yes, they had bad officers, too, but at least the police could perform their jobs and let the courts handle the rest.
God bless all those who wear the badges in Philadelphia.
I have always told those who I love and know on the force - "Remember, it is better to be judged by 12 than carried by six."

Book review by Jennifer from Makobi Scribe. jennifer is a mom who like to read on her off time and as much time she get from her work breaks. She describe her pleasant review of the book and recommended to all of us to read as a fiction but based on real events of the daily drill of a catholic cop who tell about his assignments in one of the roughest area in NY.
The opportunity to read Confessions of a Catholic Cop by Thomas Fitzsimmons came at a great time. I was so excited the day the book arrived, only problem was it was the middle of the day and I couldn’t sit down to read it because my two little ones were demanding my time. So after I put them to bed that night, it was me and the book! The book is a work of fiction but was inspired by real events. I was hooked after the first page and a couple of hours flew by and I couldn’t stop turning the pages. It was getting late and I had to get up early with the kids so I had to put it down! So each night after the kids were in bed I read until on the 4th night I was finished. I typically don’t read a book that fast but it called to me everyday and I looked forward to that time each night were I could relax and get lost in the story. I loved the book, it made me happy, sad, made me laugh and cry…I felt on the edge of my seat and that’s one of the things I love about reading…it makes you hunger for more.
The story is about a Beckett, a police officer in a really terrible part of New York, the South Bronx. The story takes you on a journey right along with him and his partner day in and day out from the roll call at the precinct to the string of arson’s and shoot outs. It’s an eye opener to see how the crime and corruption is all interlinked with politicians, businessmen and the judicial system (from judges, DAs, detectives and beat cops). Although not everyone is corrupt, Beckett is trying to figure out what’s going on with the arson’s, who’s behind them and to stop them. There are several people who are trying to deter him from doing his job.

It is never too late to make correction to your workout. Especialy when it comes to your Abs. In the long run you will cut your time in half because you will gain both on the crunch and the retraction.
PRLog (Press Release) - Jun 03, 2011 - Pulling forward with hands behind the heads is less effective to target your Abs muscles. Basically, the abdominal crunch become a neck and a lower back strain. Repeatedly, no doubt, only on the retraction. Thus, many find difficulty reasoning with the results of their abdominal workout program when it comes to their crunches. Obviously, you hear all the time(but what am'I doing wrong.
It is not what most people do uncorrect formation of any exercise including the uncorrect formation of the Abs crunches, nut the habit that we all set ourself to do most of everything the easy way, or best describe to our comfort.
Most injuries do not occur on the spot. When tendons and ligaments become weaken, muscles are ready to give up at any moment, unvoluntary that is, no one can specifically determine how and when exactely these muscles become fragile.
One can avoid many lower back strain, neck stiffeness and misalignment of the spine by on all exercises programs for correct formation. Afterall even if there is no gain without pain, let the pain arrive from a diferent source than weaken tendons and ligaments around the muscles area.

Clark County, Ohio Deputy Sheriff Suzanne Hopper had no reason to believe she was in danger.
It was New Year's Day this year when she arrived to investigate a disturbance at a local campground. A window had been shot out of a mobile home. Sheriff Gene Kelly said the incident, at the time, easily could have been attributed to a prank or the result of an over-heated celebration when some revelers are known to fire weapons into the air to mark the New Year.
Finding no immediate threat, Hopper, 40, began photographing footprints in the soft ground near the mobile home. Then the door of the neighboring trailer swung open.
The suspect, armed with a shotgun, leveled the weapon at Hopper's head just feet away and pulled the trigger.
"He shot her right in the mouth," Kelly said, adding that the wound severed the deputy's spine." She likely died before she hit the ground."
The attack, which wounded another officer in a ferocious firefight, marked the beginning of a unusual series of attacks against law enforcement officers this year that bear little in common beyond uncommon brutality.
Since Hopper's murder, at least 18 officers have died in similar ambushes or surprise assaults during routine service calls.
"I don't think we've seen the end of it," said Craig Floyd, chairman of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, which closely tracks officer deaths.
Floyd said the poor economy is threatening to put officers at greater risk by forcing steep cuts in agency budgets, including training programs. "Something is wrong," Floyd said.
The issues contributing to this year's series of attacks appear to represent a collision of societal ills, ranging from mental illness and domestic disputes to access to firearms, police officials said.
In Arizona, Buckeye Police Chief Mark Mann said the May 1 murder of officer Rolando Tirado bordered on the inexplicable.
Tirado, 37, had stopped a sport-utility vehicle in a Phoenix-area parking lot that was being driven erratically. During a friendly exchange with the driver, Mann said a passenger slipped behind Tirado in the early-morning darkness, placed the nose of a .45-caliber handgun under the back of the officer's protective vest and fired. He fired a second round in the back of Tirado's head.
"He executed officer Tirado," Mann said of the 27-year-old shooter, an illegal immigrant, who died in a gunbattle in which a second Buckeye officer was wounded.
Mann said lack of training did not appear to be an issue in the shooting. Shortly before the May incident, the chief said that SWAT (special weapons and tactics) team officers from Phoenix conducted tactical training sessions for the department. The training may have helped the second officer, who despite being wounded in the neck, was able to find cover and return fire, the chief said.
"It's a very difficult loss," Mann said of Tirado, the first officer killed in the department's history.
Lakewood, N.J., officer Christopher Matlosz, 27, was the third Lakewood officer to die in the line of duty. But the Jan. 14 death marked the first time a Lakewood officer was murdered by gunfire (the two others were killed in auto accidents).
Chief Robert Lawson said Matlosz had stopped his patrol car to talk with a man walking on the side of the road when "the man started walking toward the car, pulled out a gun and fired three times."
"It was a total surprise attack," Lawson said, adding that Matlosz had no time to remove the service weapon from his holster. Later, it was determined that suspect Jahmell Crockham, 19, was a suspect in a fatal shooting the year before. "The officer didn't know who he was," Lawson said.
In Clark County, Ohio, Sheriff Kelly said Deputy Hopper had no way of knowing that Michael Ferryman would be laying in wait for her. Ferryman, 57, had been charged 10 years earlier with shooting at sheriff's deputies in another Ohio jurisdiction. In that case, he was found not guilty by reason of insanity and eventually settled in the Enon Beach park.
Having been judged mentally ill, Ferryman was prohibited from owning a firearm. Kelly said he obtained the shotgun used in Hopper's murder through a relative.
"We didn't know he was even in our community," Kelly said of Ferryman who was later killed in a three-hour shootout.
Well before Hopper's murder, the sheriff said the department invested heavily in equipment for its 131 deputies, from assault rifles to vests.
"The vest didn't help; she was shot in the mouth," he said. "We have trained and trained and trained, but you can't go on every call with your gun out."

One lessson to learn from the Fullerton Police Brutality case is that about time to get rid of """one of the extra peices cops carry' that teaser gun should go first. It is time to increase the physical training to make sure that one or two person can physicaly subdue "one" person in cases as such. It is also necessary to teach how to control temper in situations one feel provocked and his life is not in serious danger. there are work underway, teaching cops how to fight as (street fights) to handle similar situations. I had my share of bad experiences with tasers guns. Officers often think it is easy, harmless, sure one can take one or two teasers, or perhaps be scare of possibly been teasered. Time have come to lessen that belt. I rather see a wound or two on someone in many areas of the body that can subdue someone and not kill him than that teaser gun which become savage in the final shot that kill many people much horrifying than a revolver.
What is wrong with people? You mean to let me know how you look in the life support system after you are teasered, kicked in the head, broken neck, and internal head chemicals hameriage. this is kelly Thomas who was taken off life support by his parents as he had no hope of any signs of life. The fingers is point out on one cop of the six who were presence in what it look to me as if he was electruted by some extreme voltage. the cop in question is an ex-LAPD officers who recentely was hired by the cheif who is presently on leave, who himself wasd recently hired from laguna Police Department. There is couple of problems:
1- Fullerton City is known for producing the best cops as they have the police accademy at Fullerton JC. Why would the city go to Laguna to hire a police cheif. The city didn't trust any of their own. perhaps one from a neighboring town such as brea or Anaheim. it sound fishy when he left them with a dead problem.
2- I heard it from various sources, talk of the town, that thia ex-LAPD cop was gun shot in the eye, shoulder, and the abdomenin. He replaced his eye with a glass one. No wonder why he have such great smile,(one that compensate) for the tweeken glass.
Usually if a police department need to hire officers, they would go to the first source. LAPD is the last source, as if one said where he was working, not living, of course the police accademy on Fullrton JC campus is full of them. It sound like that mayor who think if you are not a scientist, hay let's kill you. You are just a street bum.
Not if it was his kid, but if you want to kill a mayor, make sure he is not a scientist too.
the formula was given by the Fullerton Mayor. Want to kill someone. Make sure he is a homeless first. ou know if someone asked, well he was not a scientist you horobale judge, he was like what the Fullerton Mayor said, some not scientist.
I Lived in Fullerton for more than 18 years. Fulleron is the town I grew few inches all over my bud, from head to toe. i was a teen when I walked in to fulleron, when I left fullerton i was married and had my first daughter. I had my Bachlor of Arts in International Business with French focus from CSUF in 1986, I went to all the Fullerton schools, and their court too.
It sound that their some type of conflict between the members of the city politicians. Their political agenda killed kelly Thomas.
They want the outsiders to run the town like they run their own. One kill and one run away. that is the facts. Editor?Publisher Eddie Elchahed.

Fullerton PD for wrongful arrest
Comes in wake of acknowledgement by chief that video of incident suggested Veth Mam wrongly arrested
LOS ANGELES — The legal problems facing an embattled Orange County police agency mounted Friday after an attorney filed a lawsuit claiming officers wrongly arrested his client and falsely accused him of attacking an officer in October.
Lawyer Garo Mardirossian said at a news conference that several Fullerton police officers wrote false reports about the arrest of Veth Mam, 35, who was later charged with assault, battery and resisting arrest. Mam was acquitted by a jury last month after video he shot of the incident convinced a jury he hadn't committed those crimes.
.
The lawsuit comes in the wake of the death of Kelly Thomas, a mentally ill homeless man who had a bloody confrontation with six officers last month, parts of which also were captured on videotape. His death has sparked outrage in Fullerton, and Mardirossian filed a claim last week against the city on behalf of Thomas' father, alleging civil rights violations, conspiracy and negligence.
In Mam's case, he was videotaping the arrest of his friend when Officer Kenton Hampton knocked the camera out of his hand and threw him to the ground, Mardirossian said. Police claim Mam jumped on the back of another officer and tried to choke him. The department has since acknowledged they may have made a mistake in arresting Mam.
Mam said it was his first visit to Fullerton and the encounter has made him so afraid he won't leave his house.
"Now I don't feel safe anymore," Mam said. "I'm pretty traumatized by this."
His lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages, claims conspiracy to violate civil rights, including excessive force, false arrest and conspiracy.
"We have an active internal investigation into the Veth Mam matter as relates to the allegations of perjury. It appears we did arrest the wrong man in the Veth Mam case and we've admitted that," police spokesman Sgt. Andrew Goodrich said. "We're not prepared to respond to any specific allegations in the lawsuit."
Mardirossian said he's been told by someone who saw the Thomas encounter that Hampton was one of the six officers involved. Police have refused to release the officers' names, citing an ongoing investigation. Those officers have been placed on paid administrative leave and the incident is being investigated by the FBI and the Orange County district attorney's office.
Goodrich, the police spokesman, declined to comment on whether Hampton was involved in either case.
Hampton could not be reached for comment.
Prosecutor Rebecca Reed, who handled Mam's case, said after she reviewed the videotape she didn't believe it was Mam who scuffled with an officer, but she decided to proceed to trial because the video didn't capture the entire event.
Reed said she relied on the officers' account of what transpired and was confident she did her due diligence. She pointed out the judge denied a defense motion to dismiss charges against Mam during the 3½-day trial. A co-defendant was convicted of assault, battery and resisting arrest.
The group was formed in early 2008. The name "Hutaree" appears to be a neologism; the group's web site says that it means "Christian warriors".[2]
The group was allegedly preparing for what they believed would be an apocalyptic battle with the forces of the Antichrist, whom they believed would be supported and defended by local, state and federal police departments. On their website, all police and military members who would support the current U.S. system of local, state or federal government were described as members of the "brotherhood", and were considered by the Hutaree to be "enemies".[1]
The way to fix the problem is not to rebel against the HUTREE group, nor to peep more into their business, to make it obvious that they are for sure in progress of some type of criminal aggression.
It is extremely difficult to deal with those who are quoted as terrorist.
We are not bending over for no one Hutaree or else. These people recruit on the basis of christianity. The approach is that Jesus was locked up, he was an innocent man, he was crusified as guilty for protecting the people. Who did that to him?
The authority.
These members may grow in millions and the challenge is more of provoketive one, if either shown that anyone stand on the other side of whatever the side they stand for and above.
Men, need more attention than woman, one can get it by many other means than this type of a challenge. We provide. I'am sure there are people who think otherwise, I didn't say only women who can fuck their brain out. Similar in recreations, entertainement, jobs, businesses, and what really jesus want all of to do. We all win.

Ex-NY officer, acquitted of rape, gets jail
A grim-looking Kenneth Moreno was led away after the sentence was pronounced in state Supreme Court
NEW YORK — A former New York City police officer, convicted of official misconduct but acquitted of raping a woman, was sentenced Monday to a year in jail.
A grim-looking Kenneth Moreno was led away after the sentence was pronounced in state Supreme Court. However, his lawyers were asking for him to get out on bail during a planned appeal.
Moreno, 43, and another officer, Franklin Mata, 29, were fired from the police department within hours of their convictions in May. But they saw the verdict as vindication in a case they portrayed as a good deed gone awry.
"When law enforcement officers commit a crime, they rip at that fabric that holds us together and you, sir, ripped a gaping hole in that fabric by committing your crimes," said State Supreme Court Justice Gregory Carro. He blasted Moreno's account of trying only to counsel, comfort and cuddle the woman as a self-serving tale.
Moreno said he had gone back to the woman's apartment three times after the first call _ even placing a phony emergency call about a sleeping vagrant to provide a pretext for one of the visits _ only to try to comfort her and give advice about drinking.
"He did not deny that he didn't do his job that night," said Moreno's lawyer, Joseph Tacopina. But "there was never a moment where there was a dereliction of duty in not responding to calls." He pointed to letters Moreno's relatives and others had written to the court, calling him trustworthy, gentle and honorable.
"People don't suddenly earn such praise overnight. It's a hallmark of a life well lived," Tacopina said.
Moreno was accused of raping her while Mata stood watch.
Mata was expected to be sentenced on Monday afternoon.
"My world was turned upside-down by the actions of two police officers who were sent there to protect but instead took advantage of their authority and broke the law," the woman, now a 29-year-old fashion product developer in California, said in a statement after the verdict.
The case ignited protests from women's advocates, who saw it as a discouraging example of the difficulty women face in coming forward with a sexual assault complaint.
K.C. Washington, a member of the National Organization for Women's New York board of directors, stood outside the courthouse, holding a sign that said, "NYPD: Protect Women." She said she had been "horrified" by the acquittal. "We can't keep silent," she said. "We're just sending a message to the people who make the policies, and the judges, that it's not OK."
Fullerton police chief asked to step down
A councilwoman requested the resignation in the wake of a confrontation that led to the death of Kelly Thomas, a mentally ill man
Orange County Register
FULLERTON, Calif. — Fullerton councilwoman seeks Michael Sellers' resignation over his handling of fatal confrontation.
A councilwoman requested the resignation of Police Chief Michael Sellers on Wednesday over his handling of events in the wake of a police confrontation that led to the death of a mentally ill man.
Councilwoman Sharon Quirk-Silva said the chief should have taken a more public role in his department's response to the Kelly Thomas case. Thomas, 37, a transient with schizophrenia, was fatally injured in a fight with six Fullerton officers last month.

Stanley Lavon Gibson, 43, was shot by an officer early Monday
Posted 12/14/2011
"I'm a desperate man. I'm very desperate," he said in a Nov. 12 voicemail message to a reporter about fears that he and his wife would lose their home.
Gibson was put in touch with a veterans advocate, who told the newspaper he talked to Gibson last week and planned to start reviewing his case Monday.
But Gibson was shot by an officer early Monday after a report of a man breaking into a northwest Las Vegas condominium. The Review-Journal reported Gibson may have been confused and trying to find his way home to an unfamiliar apartment where he and his wife moved Dec. 1.
Police said Gibson was unarmed, but that he rammed his vehicle into police cruisers that pinned his Cadillac in a parking lot.
Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie promised an investigation, and refused to speculate about why the officer opened fire. Department spokeswoman Carla Alston called it "speculative" and "premature" to comment on details before the probe was complete.
Gibson's wife, Rondha, said her husband had run out of anxiety medication and was prone to paranoid delusions and anxiety.
Just two days before the shooting, police took Gibson to jail on a resisting arrest charge after he screamed at passing cars and accused his wife of conspiring against him.
Rondha Gibson said police told her Stanley Gibson would be seen by a doctor on a 72-hour psychiatric evaluation, but he arrived back home Sunday. He told his wife he had taken out the trash and didn't remember going to jail. More details at www.policeone.com different opinions and facts are available also on the web search engines.

Ohio Cop Allegedly Lied About Chase, Gunfire
Posted 09/06/111.
SHELBY COUNTY, Ohio --
A Port Jefferson police officer is under investigation for filing a false report early this morning.
According to Shelby County Sheriff Dean Kimpel, the part-time officer, 30-year-old Michael Blankenship, made up a story about exchanging gunfire with a suspect and crashing his cruiser during a chase.
"His story had a lot of inconsistencies," said Sheriff Kimpel. "There were no weapons pointed at him and no one fired at him."
The sheriff said Blankenship's entire story of exchanging gunfire with a man and chasing him was a lie. However, Blankenship did side-swipe a guardrail which resulted in minor damage to the police cruiser.
Kimpel said Blankenship crashed his cruiser just west of Port Jefferson on State Route 47 shortly before 1 a.m.
He was treated and released from Miami Valley Hospital.
Sheriff Kimpel said Blankenship was suffering from personal problems.
"We do know that he's going through some domestic issues. His wife just recently left him," said Sheriff Kimpel.
Kimpel said since Blankenship filed a false report the case will be presented to a prosecutor.

Court upholds 'citizen's right' to film cops
Arrests for filming cops violate Constitution, court ruled...
BOSTON — Arresting someone for filming the police is a constitutional violation, the Massachusetts district court announced Friday.
The case began when Simon Glik was taken into police custody for recording an arrest with his cell phone camera, according to Tech Dirt. Glik told police he saw an officer punch the suspect and believed their use of force was excessive, sources say. Officers reportedly asked him to stop recording because audio recording — a capability of Glik’s phone — violated Massachusetts wiretap laws.
Glik was charged with disturbing the peace and aiding in the escape of a prisoner — charges that were later dropped — but he sued the officers who arrested him and the City of Boston for failing to investigate the case further. His First and Fourth Amendment rights were violated, he said.
The police officers filed for qualified immunity, which is designed to protect them against frivolous charges, but the district court ruled in Glik’s favor, unequivocally stating that recording police in public is protected under the First Amendment.
“A citizen’s right to film government officials, including law enforcement officers, in the discharge of their duties in a public space is a basic, vital, and well-established liberty safeguarded by the First Amendment,” the decision said.
The court also ruled that the use of Massachusetts wiretapping laws to arrest Glik was a violation of his Fourth Amendment rights.

Arkansas Officer Killed at Traffic Stop
Jonathan Skaggs, a former Trumann police officer who recommended Schmidt for the job, said his friend left a higher paying job at a steel mill in 2007 to join the police force in the city where he was raised.
"He said he just wanted to do his part to give back to Trumann," Skaggs said.
Schmidt worked as a night patrolman so he could spend days with his three children - one of whom is just a baby, Skaggs said.
